Product Description

The 6-3/4" x 19-1/2" 24F-V8 Douglas Fir Glulam Beam is an ultra-high-capacity structural member designed for extreme spans and heavy-duty commercial or high-end residential framing. This 24F-V8 balanced layup provides a premium structural grade, exceeding the performance of standard 24F-V4 beams and serving as a superior substitution for any project specifying a 24F-V4 glulam with standard camber.

Manufactured from high-grade Douglas Fir and bonded with moisture-resistant structural adhesives, this 19-1/2" depth beam features a standard camber to neutralize deflection over massive distances. Kiln-dried for dimensional stability and staged for fast loading at our Stockton, California wholesale distribution hub, this beam ensures structural precision and job site efficiency for the most demanding builds.

Specifications
  • Width: 6-3/4"
  • Depth: 19-1/2"
  • Stress Grade: 24F-V8 (Premium Balanced Layup)
  • Species: Douglas Fir (DF)
  • Camber: Standard Camber included
  • Certification: APA-rated structural glued laminated timber
Common Uses
  • Primary structural headers for the widest garage door openings (20'+) with heavy multi-story tributary loads
  • Main floor girders for expansive luxury estates requiring massive clear spans and zero mid-span supports
  • Heavy-duty ridge beams and structural valley rafters in industrial-scale vaulted roof systems
  • Critical transfer beams used to support significant upper-story point loads in large-scale multi-family construction
Contractor & Builder Notes
  • Heavy Timber Capacity: The 6-3/4" width provides massive bearing surface and lateral stability, making it the professional choice for the most demanding structural spans.
  • High-Spec Substitution: The 24F-V8 balanced layup offers superior structural capacity over standard V4, providing an extra safety margin for critical headers and long spans.
  • Camber Orientation: Built with a standard crown; ensure the beam is installed with the "TOP" stamp facing up so it levels out perfectly once the structure is fully loaded.
  • Engineered Stability: Kiln-dried to a consistent moisture content to prevent the twisting, shrinking, and checking common in green lumber, ensuring a stable, quiet frame.
  • Rapid Loading: Staged at our Stockton, California wholesale distribution hub for fast forklift loading to keep your framing crew on schedule and minimize downtime.
