The 2×12 × 8' #2 Kiln-Dried Hem-Fir is a short-length structural framing member commonly used where high strength, clean appearance, and consistent sizing are required without the need for long spans.
The 8' length is well suited for blocking, headers, stair components, deck framing, and general residential structural framing. Compared to Douglas Fir, Hem-Fir offers lighter handling and excellent workability while remaining fully IRC-recognized for structural use.
All material is kiln-dried for dimensional stability, then pulled, banded, and stored dry at our Boise lumberyard — so you’re loading framing-ready lumber, not sorting through mixed or damaged stock.
